What is High Tide?

High Tide is a free merge puzzle game you play in your browser. It works like 2048 — swipe to slide tiles, matching numbers merge and double — with one twist: water rises from the bottom of the board and drowns your tiles. Every merge pushes the tide back down, and bigger merges push it further. When the water reaches the top row, the run is over. Runs last two to four minutes.

How to play

Swipe (or use arrow keys) to slide every tile on the board. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile of double the value. A counter above the board shows how many moves until the tide rises one row. Tiles caught in the water start drowning and disappear after two moves unless you merge or rescue them. The choice that makes High Tide tense: take the small safe merge now, or gamble on setting up a big merge that slams the waterline down.

Special tiles

Pearl merges with anything. Sandbag holds back the flood in its column. Moonstone freezes the tide for several moves.

Compete

The global leaderboard resets every week. The Daily Tide gives everyone the same board and one attempt per day. Create a friend league with an invite code to compete privately.
